California Randomness

March 2014 - San Diego CA area

Some random photos taken while on the road around San Diego.

CHPS! Does anyone remember the TV show?

We are motoring along when suddenly there are two patrol cars with flashing lights controlling the traffic. They lead the traffic to a Border Control checkpoint where the patrol cars pull off and each car is reviewed by a border patrol officer and either waved on or pulled over.

These checkpoints are located between 25 and 75 miles of the Mexico – United States border along major U.S. highways. Their situation at interior locations allow them to deter illegal activities that may have bypassed official border crossings along the frontier. The checkpoints are divided among nine Border Patrol sectors.
