Next Trip!! England

Decided to go visit Tanya for a week! Really excited and so is Tanya.
Now time to make plans:
Packing
Turtleneck
Scarf - always handy for many things - I'm referring to the pashima type.
Rain gear

Shopping
Need to check if I have a power convertor as I will need to charge batteries!

To do
Print off tickets in office
Print off some guidebook stuff

Decide on where to go. Tanya already has lots of plans for that, Birmingham, Wolverhampton to mention a few.

USE BUTTONS AS EARRING HOLDERS

When you’re packing jewelry, be sure to also pack a drinking straw and a few buttons.Drinking straws can protect your necklaces from tangling. Simply thread one end of the necklace though the straw and secure the clasp. The straw will keep it from tangling and knotting in the bottom ofyour bag. Buttons can hold and keep your earrings secure. Simply put the earring post through the button hole. Then, place the back of the earring on the other end. This keeps them out of the creases of your jewelry bag (making them harder to lose). You can put the other earring in the same button, to keep them together. That way, they’ll be easier to find when you’re dashing out for dinner.

China Notes to Self

Always bring:

My Acer Netbook was awesome to have with us. Could access internet, download photos.

Lots of kleenex packages

Hand Sanitizers

Internet cable - just saves having to ask desk to bring one

Cotton skirt

USB keys - really handy for downloading cameras

There is really no need to tip.

There are ATMs everywhere.

Would probably fly to Hong Kong without any luggage first if the flight was reasonable. Could then shop for clothes.

Buy your souvenirs as you see them, as most are unique to the area you are in. I am glad I didn't wait to get them in HK as we didn't really see any of the stuff we bought. Hong Kong souvenirs were more on the tacky side.

If you want to see the Three Gorges try to find a cruise that starts at the Gorges as the trip from Chongqing is not very picturesque. On the other hand, the 3 day cruise was great for relaxing and enjoying the side trips that are included as part of the package.
