On the Road Again Lafayette LA to Mobile AL

No rush this morning, breakfast in the hotel, Skype with J and L grandkids.
Looking out hotel at the muddy Mississppi!

On the road by 10:30 and headed to Mobile AL deciding not to stop for lunch only gas.
Weather is overcast, slightly rainy as we set out but temperatures in mid 60s. Sun comes out as we go further east.

 Nice road...

Crossed into Mississippi. the weather warmed up and got sunny.

Finally Alabama.

Checked into the Hampton Inn in the heart of the historic district. Lovely hotel and lovely staff.

 It is Sunday so most shops are closed. We wander and get some photos and stop for a snack of chili cheese fries.

Back to the hotel and we ordered in. Very disappointing as we had hoped to have a nice dinner out but nothing is open!!!

We are heading east on a different route than we took in December going east bound.

This day last year we were driving through New Mexico.
