May 2014 - Toronto ON
The Gardiner Museum is the only museum in Canada devoted exclusively to ceramic art. It is located on Queen’s Park just south of Bloor Street in Toronto, opposite the Royal Ontario Museum.
Linking up with Marg at The Intrepid Reade r Weekend Coffee Share Sunday Salon WE ARE TRAVELLING UNTIL DEC 22, I WILL LINK UP IF POSSIBLE....
Quite an eclectic collection. I passed by the last time I was in Toronto, but I've never been inside.
ReplyDeleteThis is my kind of place to visit. The striped head is a real eye catcher.
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to lie: when I read ceramic Museum, I was only expecting some of the plates and pots you posted toward the middle of the blog. But then I saw the more ancient ones… Wow! Really really beautiful. Maybe I'll be even more surprised if I visit it? Too bad I passed it up when I was in Toronto last summer.

Love the stripey face out front and the selection of ceramic art that you have shown. The first stork on plate is something I like and the Indian Teapot is very interesting and collectible.
ReplyDeleteIs that huge striped head made of ceramic? Impressive if it is.
