Saturday Snapshot - A Parade Mazatlan Mexico

February 2014 - Mazatlan Mexico

We were caught totally unaware last night, as we were having a beer. This was serendipity as we were planning on going to the top of the Freeman Hotel for sunset. But it looked crowded as it was the first Friday of the month and therefore Art Walk (click here for photos of January's Art Walk), meaning there were lots of tourists and gringos strolling the area.

We kept hearing fireworks going off and then sirens. Then the parade started for the Queen of Carnaval candidates!

Each contestant had a unique colour that her entourage/fans wore.

  1. What a fabulous celebration! I really love those colorful buses. Thanks for sharing...and here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST

  2. Wahoo! Carnival! Who knew there was a celebration before the celebrartion ?!? You got a bonus!

  3. What fun. Sometimes you can be in the right place at the right time.
