Tuesday Photo Challenge CHALLENGE

The name of this town is always a challenge to me to pronounce TLAQUEPAQUE!

While there we watched the Nahuatl Indians performing The Danza de los Voladores (Dance of the Flyers") an ancient Mesoamerican ceremony/ritual still performed today, albeit in modified form, in isolated pockets in Mexico.

Kammie's Odd Ball Challenge

Kammie's Odd Ball Challenge

The rules are - no rules.
Odd Ball Photos are those great photos that you take which really don’t seem to fit into a common category. We’ve all taken them and like them, because we just can’t hit delete and get rid of them. If you have any of those type of photos, this challenge is for you.
Oddball: noun a person or thing that is atypical, bizarre, eccentric, or nonconforming
adjective whimsically free-spirited; eccentric; atypical

A Photo a Week BRIDGES

Ha'penny Bridge Dublin Ireland
In May 1816 this charming, elliptical arch bridge opened to offer passage via its timber gangway to any Dubliner willing to pay a ha’penny, the exact price of the then redundant ferry and payable to William Walsh, ferry owner and alderman of the city.

Bridge of Sighs Venice Italy
Folklore says that the view from the Bridge of Sighs was the last view of Venice that convicts saw before their imprisonment hence the name.

Chain Bridge Budapest Hungary
Was the first permanent bridge across the Danube in Hungary. It was opened in 1849.

Siem Reap Cambodia

Ronda Spain
Puerte Nuevo - The construction of the newest bridge (the one that stands today) was started in 1759 and took 34 years to build.

Down a Random Road - Weekly Photo Challenge

Weekly Photo Challenge hosted by Traveling at Wit's End- Down a Random Road

This summer we took a lot of local road trips around the country side of Ontario, not far from the hustle and bustle of Toronto.

You'll encounter the horse and buggies of Mennonites.

Wide open spaces.

Ride behind a farm tractor on a dirt road.

I was going to post some exotic country roads that we've visited but we have so much right around us!

And right on our own doorstep, beside Lake Ontario.

Reflection

Tuesday Photo Challenge

This was a little easy for me as I have been participating in Weekend Reflections for quite a few years. So I was curious what would be my favourite from my archives.

As I perused my hard drive, I "reflected" on the reflections of us!

Adelaide Australia

That's us in the centre, John in green with camera and me in beige with hand on hip.

Dublin Ireland

OK so John's not in this reflection, but beside it.

Things in a Row

Weekly Photo Challenge Things in a Row

October 2018 - Toronto ON

On my rambles this week I have come across a few things in a row (some I've already shown on my weekly recap before I knew the topic).

These pottery pieces are in a row in a painting I saw at the AGO.

Toronto's skyline is always changing. Also changing is the technology that we used to capture photos.
Taken (pre-digital) our first summer in Toronto from the Toronto Islands 1991.

2015 and it would be different today!

A Photo a Week Challenge WHIMSICAL

October 2018 - Toronto ON

I took this purse photo on Wednesday at the Textile Museum before I knew what this week's challenge was! It was in the gift shop and I will admit I put my hand under the kilt to see where the bottom of the purse was, only realizing after how funny that was. Too bad I didn't have anyone with me to take THAT photo!
