We hadn't been to the downtown section of Myrtle Beach. We followed the signs after we dropped friends off at the airport.

The country music group Alabama played for tips as the house band at The Bowery, just off Ocean Boulevard in downtown Myrtle Beach, beginning in the summer of 1973. The group left Myrtle Beach for Nashville and a major record label contract in 1980, then opened Alabama Theatre at Barefoot Landing in 1993. The name “Alabama” came from a sign used as a backdrop on The Bowery’s stage.
I'm getting a laugh out of the Duffy's sign.
ReplyDeleteEverything about it is just as I imagined it would be. Food, fun and bright lights.
ReplyDeletelooks like a good day trip destination.
ReplyDeleteSo, the band Alabama isn't actually from Alabama??!! I just assumed they were. That Sky Wheel looks very tall from your perspective, and I like that purple dragon. Myrtle Beach Boardwalk looks like a fun place to explore, and I'd definitely be stopping for some ice cream there.
