
March 2013 - New Orleans
The city is instantly recognized by the cathedral and its position overlooking Jackson Square. The Cathedral-Basilica of St. Louis King of France is the oldest Catholic cathedral in continual use in the United States.

ReplyDeleteI've never been to New Orleans, but I know that every single village in southern Germany has a least one catholic church that is longer in use than the cathedral-basilika Saint Louis of "the Big Easy". But for American periods of time this is really a religious dinosaur...;-)
