The custom of artfully folding tablecloths and napkins originated in Europe at the start of the 16th century. Early records of the practice stem from Northern Italy, probably from Florence. The artfully folded garments of the Renaissance served as an inspiration.

How inventive is this, I love how small and quirky exhibits really add to the travel experience, thanks for sharing this.
