September 2013 - Hamilton On
I went to African Lion Safari for the first time this week even though we have driven by it so many times in the last 22 years that we have lived in Toronto.
You can either drive yourself around in your own car which I wouldn't recommend unless you like having monkeys climb over your car and even poop on it LOL!
There is a bus that you can take for a $5 fee which is much more enjoyable and it stops to allow you to take photos (from with the bus!!). There is some reflection from the windows and you do have to shoot around other cameras and arms.
If you do take your car you can bypass the monkeys but you still can't open your windows.
Once you have finished your bus tour you can take a ride on the African Queen.
There is also a train ride which we didn't take.
There are shows featuring birds of prey, elephants and parrots that we attended.
Then you can walk around and visit some other animals.
Weekend Cooking

Beth hosts Weekend Cooking where you can post anything food related.
On September 17 we attended a Season 7 episode 2 taping of the Steven and Chris show at CBC. My GF and I had attended before and we thought the guys would enjoy it.
You have to arrive by 10:15 and then you wait around until they take attendance and get everyone into their seats, around 11 AM. There must be a method to how they seat the audience for the cameras as we were singled out for strategic seating as we had two guys with us and there were only four in total!!
The taping took much longer than the last time as there were new sets to work with. The show aired on September 24.
During the Food portion the chef Michael P Clive made a chilli cornbread cobbler.
Here are some photos I took from the TV.
This looks so good I am going make it this week.
Sepia Saturday - Sep 28

196. This 1935 Insurance ad has plenty of possibilities to theme; the large bed , small boy, quilt, doctor's bag, toys. Take your pick.
Probably 1958 Baie Comeau Quebec Christmas morning. We have a bed, quilt and some toys. I have no idea who the little girl in the middle is. She is not a cousin or family member.
I am guessing that since most of the people my parents socialized with in Baie Comeau were Irish, english or Scottish immigrants that her parents must have stayed overnight with us.
We got the desk and chair, rocking chair and our red ballet cases that I can see in the photo.
