I'm linking up at Monday Mural
Bloor St. West
This mural was painted by Toronto-based Korean-Canadian artist Jieun June Kim (often known as June Kim).About the Artwork
It depicts a woman wearing a traditional Korean hanbok, surrounded by bright pink Mugunghwa (Hibiscus syriacus) flowers, which are the national flower of South Korea.
The artwork was commissioned in partnership with the Koreatown Business Improvement Area (BIA) and the City of Toronto's StreetARToronto (StART) program to celebrate Korean cultural identity and heritage in the neighbourhood.
Officially opened on July 17, 2026, the new Honest Ed's Park in Toronto's Mirvish Village (located at 608 Markham St.)
It features a prominent large-scale public art mural titled Star Wall for Ed, created in connection with the late renowned American minimalist artist Frank Stella.
The artwork is inspired by Stella’s 1970 50-foot protractor-series painting Damascus Gate, which was famously displayed in David Mirvish's local bookstore and gallery space for 35 years.
The mural is painted on the exterior wall of 610 Markham Street, which originally served as Anne Mirvish’s sculpture studio.
It depicts a vibrant geometric "constellation of stars" honoring the creative history of Mirvish Village and its transition into a modern community hub.
