Monday Mural

I'm linking up at Monday Mural

September 2021 - Milton ON

Just outside Toronto is the Halton County Radical Railway Museum.

In September 2019 when the TTC were retiring the last of their old model streetcars, a group of artists created A Streetcar Named Toronto. They revamped a TTC Canadian Light Rail Vehicle (CLRV). They hand-painted and decorated it as part of celebrations for the retirement of the 40-year-old fleet.

Unfortunately we couldn't go inside.

Several local artists were selected to transform streetcar #4178, with Jacquie Comrie painting the exterior of the vehicle using a variety of paints and full-spectrum palettes, including neons and glow-in-the-dark paint, making it visible to everyone at night.

The interior featured art activations by Nicole Beno, Ryan Van der Hout, and Chris Perez, along with textile and lighting modifications by Suanne McGregor.
