Weekend Cooking

May 2016 - Toronto ON

This week has mainly involved redecorating and reorganizing our place. We had a ton of paper needing shredding so we went out and got a shredder.
I had seen a denim blue quilt I liked so we picked it up on Monday and John suggested we replace our yellow cushions with new ones.

We had someone come and look at our closets, ugly old sliding doors on all of them, And they don't work for us. He measured and set up an appointment for us to go to the showroom to look at their products and get pricing on Saturday. We have two other companies coming on Saturday before that appointment. Both these companies say they will provide samples and pricing on the spot which I consider a better option so depending on them we may not bother making the drive to the other showroom. I am guessing the idea is if you go to the showroom you will probably buy more options.

We had three garbage bags for charity and had 1-800 Got Junk to come and take way my sewing cabinet, a three way standing picture screen, safe, filing cabinet and the top of the cabinet from the dining room. I had shown you that last week. They are expensive in a sense, but always on time, efficient and polite young men. I had a $30 coupon and they also gave me $75 in gift cards so wasn't that much in the end and I know we will use the cards as we need to clear our storage room.

Once the stuff was gone from the spare room we went to Ikea and picked up the desk we wanted. John spent the afternoon putting it together.

DA DA! That is 78 inches long! We could fit another cabinet underneath.  The top is just sitting on top of the cabinets. The brown box in the middle is john's humidor.
The bright light reflecting in the window is coming from our balcony which has yet to be decorated for spring, but it just might be warm enough this weekend.

So we never did get to a lunch this week. John golfed Wednesday and Friday.
We did go to the movies and saw Money Monster which we both really enjoyed. Clooney was very impressive.

I did bake a couple of things.

Cranberry orange loaf. photo in link.

Looks like you had a major overhaul of organizing your place. We could use a closet organizer, make the bedt use of space.
