We should have been checking out and taking the 7 hour train to Zagreb Croatia today. But we made a management decision to cancel Zagreb. Based on the time on the train and really only one day in Zagreb that it wasn't worth it. So we extended our Budapest stay for two nights and were very happy with that decision.
Things we learned in Budapest
There wasn't really any need to get local cash. We took $60 CAD and had to find a way to spend it.
Euros are often accepted.
When asking for the bill in a restaurant also then then whether you will be paying "card or cash".
This is the nicest Hilton Garden Inn we have ever stayed. Location perfect. Included breakfast buffet amazing.
Bolt/Uber is easy.

Friday Oct 23 Belgrade - Bucharest
Travel day. Left hotel 10AM flight was 1:10, 1 hour and we lost an hour. Sunset now 6:18.

Thoughts Belgrade
We thought smoking was bad on patios in other cities, in Belgrade you can smoke inside restaurants - horrible!
It is cheaper than Vienna and Budapest.
It has a great pedestrian area.
Centaur is a fabulous hotel completely in the centre of the city. And it has robes, heated towel rack and heated floor. Hotel arranged pick up from airport, nothing like stepping out and seeing your name!
Nice city, not a lot of sights.
Best meal so far!
General Comments
All airports have an "All Passports Control" either outgoing or incoming, so prepare to build this into your schedule.
The trees do turn colours and drop their leaves, however, the colours are much more beautiful at home!
