January 2016 - Guadalajara Mexico
The other night we went to the Mariachi bar, Epoca de Oro (meaning Golden Age) and had a
wonderful time. We were the only gringos in the place.
These two photos we took the day before when we happened upon it and vowed we were coming back in the evening.
These two gentlemen were the main act and appeared to be father
and son. Everything was in Spanish but we had a great time anyway.
I love that they performed this song, A Mi Manera, in Spanish accompanied by the mariachis. This is best Youtube version I could find.

It was Thursday night but that didn't stop whole families from coming out. At some tables there were three generations enjoying themselves.
The mariachis look exactly like I would expect.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun night of mariachi! I would love to return to Mexico.
ReplyDeleteKeep the good times rolling!
ReplyDeleteStrings in unison are so beautiful to hear. For a moment, I thought the guy with the white violin was playing a conch shell with strings. LOL

What a wonderful way to celebrate being together. The music of Mariachi bands is always so uplifting and fun. #songography
ReplyDeleteTravel is best when you find something off the beaten path and not frequented by tourists. Being the only "gringos" is a sure sign you succeeded! haha. Looks like so much fun! Thanks for sharing at Song-ography.
ReplyDeleteThat really looks like a fun place to go!
