Cotton Candy
I haven't had cotton candy since fall fairs in my teens.
ReplyDelete...I had a hunch that you would use 'C'asa, but three 'C's is great! I love your 'C'reepy 'C'haracter at the 'C'opala 'C'hurch. 'C'otton 'C'andy, yum! Thanks Jackie, enjoy your vacation.
ReplyDeleteNice sign. Weird creepy guy doesn't look like he should be on a church, but he is an interesting character. Yum cotton candy!
ReplyDeleteyes the guy sureis creepy and I was wondering is cotton candy the same as our candy floss? i hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteYes, Margaret, cotton candy is candy floss, I had forgotten that name for it.
DeleteSo, the Copala is a church? It's a very pretty and colorful sign. I really used to like cotton candy, but haven't had it for years! It was fun to go to the fairs and see them make it for you on a stick, now it's all just in bags! Have a good week, Jackie!
ReplyDeleteDawn
Nice "C's", Jackie. I like the retrofitted item that could have been a sardine can now painted up? We have a pretty nice Casa De Colores down here which is a traditional Santa Fe, New Mexico, adobe home.
ReplyDeleteYour $3.00 Cotton Candy reminds me of when we came to New Hampshire, six of us in an non-air-conditioned car. We were all hot when we drove in, July 5, and pulled up by an ice cream cone walkup windowed sidewalk store. I asked for six nickel cones and got laughed at. The lady said to try 25 cents. I was coming from El Paso, Texas where they were five cents. I think here now in the Houston area cotton candy on a cardboard tube are #1.00. I'll check next time I go to the beach, carnival, or festival. Those places could charge more though.
..
But that's $3 Canadian dollars, LOL.
DeleteI wonder what that character over the church was all about. It looked rather fiendish.
ReplyDeleteOne story to explain this statue protruding from the church is that the town suffered the black plague in the early years, and almost everyone died. The priest asked the community to hold hands and pray, circling the church. Prayer caused the image of Satan to rise out of the rock on the side of the church and exorcised him from the church. The plague was eradicated, and the town saved.
DeleteAnother legend I found online says if you throw a stone at the devil and hit it on the first try, you will be blessed with good luck.
DeleteCLEVER collage of C's!
ReplyDeletefun post - that's certainly a weird guy hanging out over that church! I thought it would be a gargoyle or something with big scary teeth, but no...just a guy in a bowler hat!
ReplyDeleteLovely combination of c's... the last one is very tasty ass well
