We'll take a road trip this round.

Ute Lake derives its name from the Ute Indians. The Ute Indians called themselves Nunt'z, "the people," and were originally a Plains tribe that was driven into the Rocky Mountains by other Native Americans. They originally hunted as far west as the Great Salt Lake in Utah and as far east as northeastern New Mexico, western Oklahoma, and southeastern Colorado. The Shoshoni and Comanche Indians called them Ute Indians.

  4. Jackie, thank you for the road trip. I didn't know much about the Ute tribe. I'm sort of like Amy the the pickup trucks. The were popular here in the. 60's and 70's. The Ford Utes were Rancheros, their fronts looked like Ford cars and had a pickup box in the back. Chevys had them too. I wonder what the Mexican kids were doing under the counter?
