February 2021 - Hamilton ON

Found on our February Hamilton visit.

Can't wait until we can sit in their beer garden! And to show you photos of their cans designed by artists.

It was hard to find information on the murals. I had to do it by hit or miss. If I find more details I will update this post.

Collective Arts and Brewery

Collective Arts fuses the creativity of craft beverages with the inspired talents of artists from around the world. We feature limited-edition works of art on our labels, and we work to make sure the liquid on the inside is as diverse and creative as the artists we profile.

WERC
Jari “Werc” Alvarez was born in Ciudad Juarez, CH, Mexico in 1980, and grew up in El Paso, TX, USA. He is a public artist currently based out of NYC and paints murals throughout the world. His studio-based works have been exhibited in numerous galleries & museums, such as Musée de Aquitaine, MCASD, CAMLA, MOM, and are part of the Getty’s special collections, the Smithsonian American Art Archives and the Cheech Marin Chicano Art Collection. He has been named one of the Top 10 most talented street artists in New York City in recent years and his client list includes Sony Pictures, PANTONE, BVLGARI, Toyota, Google, the San Diego International Airport, amongst many others.

The brewery had also commissioned him to do one in downtown Hamilton that we saw a couple of weeks ago.

I guessed this was Ola Volo because it looked so much like a mural in Yorkville in Toronto. I finally did find this one on her website.

Artist Bruno Revitte is also known as Brunosmoky and his wife, artist Elisa Monreal, is known as Shalakattack.

Mosher is a Chicago-based street artist and muralist. His trademark ape character and vivid comic book painting style are an iconic part of the burgeoning Chicago mural scene.

January 2021 - Hamilton ON

Continuing with the Hamilton murals we found last week.

Burnt Toast Creative’s signature doodle pieces can be found across Hamilton and around the world. Scott Martin is the talented artist behind these colourful works and has done illustrations for brands like Dropbox, Facebook and Samsung. This popular piece featuring marshmallow clouds and a cartoon figure sitting on a hand was Martin’s contribution to the 2019 Concrete Canvas Festival.

You’ll find this piece by local tattoo and multimedia artist Jordan Warmington, at one of the busiest intersections in the city. This jazzy design is meant to entertain people passing this busy corner or waiting at the light. The local artist was inspired by one of his favourite illustrators, Robert Crumb and his famous “Keep on Truckin” illustration.

Scott McDonald

Scott McDonald's mural of Hamilton Ticats football legend Angelo Mosca.

No idea who painted it.

These three were painted on the same wall. Just to the right you can see the #BLM mural that I posted last week.
