Tom the backroads traveller hosts this weekly meme.
Click here for a history of Toronto lane naming and a list of other lanes. That post is a work in progress, and gets updated frequently.
This has been languishing in my drafts folder as I cannot find the reason for the name.
It is near Victoria St.
The pub sign belongs to the Imperial Pub, and don't believe the hype in their write up. We went in last summer and walked back out.
The historical Imperial Pub is a true Toronto landmark that has been pouring draught for 64 years and counting. It is also a truly a family business. Jack Newman founded the Imperial Pub in 1944. His son Fred joined him behind the bar in 1968.
There are/were some murals down the lane if you can manage the stench! It's not a lane I would walk down.
There is a nice utility box at the corner.
Colourful mural work.ReplyDelete
...first off, I love your header image of the falls. The best viewing places are in Canada!!! I have had some posts sitting as a draft for years, I'm glad that you posted this one. Thanks Jackie, take care and stay well.ReplyDelete
I really like Bike Murals.ReplyDelete
Coffee is on and stay safe
Those bike murals are beautiful. Too bad they are in a bad part of town. I am loving your new blog header, even if it looks very cold.ReplyDelete
