My Corner of the World
February 2020 - Toronto ON
On Sunday John and I headed to Yorkville for the ice fest.
This year, all things 80’s are retro-cool again with the “Awesome 80’s” theme that transformed the neighbourhood into a one-of-a-kind display of over 70,000 lbs. of ice sculpted into ice sculptures glittering to the max.
A demonstration.
It was crowded, but that's what you get when you get there at 1:30!
I got there at 1 pm. I was a bit underwhelmed by some of the pieces - it has been better in other years.
ReplyDeleteWE haven't gone in years so didn't have anything to compare.
DeleteFun sculptures!
ReplyDelete...what an icy wow. One of these years it would be fun to see a show like this, but until then I'll just have to enjoy the beach. Thanks Jackie for sharing this cool post. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteWow, fantastic ice sculptures.
ReplyDeleteIncredible ice sculptures. I haven't seen ones with color before.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, these are some stunning works of art! I've always wanted to see an ice sculpture display!
