Thanks for the link Jackie - there was also a great Irish restaurant around the old area, staffed by Shelbourne/Dublin people, it subsequently moved to Bloor when all this massive destruction took place. Dooley's. Also a great night club The Coal Bin, I think that was on Adelaide. Seventies era. I have great memories of the area both before and after the re-construction.
...I'm glad that it isn't my job to wash those windows.

ReplyDeleteThe ghost of me haunts these buildings - I worked in then all - and I watched them being built from the old Nag's Head (the original) on York Street.
