My Corner of the World
September 2019 - Toronto ON
I made a video of the amazing sculpture we saw in September at the Toronto Botanic Gardens.
Back for its second year, the outdoor art exhibition “ZimSculpt” showcases hundreds of stone sculptures by many of Zimbabwe’s most renowned contemporary artists.
The works are chiseled, hand-carved, sanded and polished by artists who draw upon a wide variety of inspiration. From dramatic modern styling praised by Henry Moore, to more contemplative “village” pieces that capture African life, these sculptures project a vibrancy that has captivated audiences around the world. The setting of Toronto’s most beautiful garden for this great art highlights the beauty of both.
...the faces are haunting. What a great find. Thank Jackie for sharing, I hope that your week is going well.
