Wondrous Words Wednesday

Wondrous Words Wednesday is a weekly meme where we share new (to us) words that we’ve encountered in our reading and is hosted by Bermuda Onion.

  1. Ineluctable -   "The ineluctable approach of winter had many worried about the cost of heating their homes." Adjective - not to be avoided, changed, or resisted.
  2. Malavogue - "If yous don't get in here I'll malavogue yous!" Verb -to beat severely. This is from old Irish, still used in some areas. Here is an interesting list of Irish words used in everyday conversation.

  1. Two interesting words there for sure this week, both new to me as well. I do like malavogue, and may have to take up using it.

  4. Those are new to me. Around here, we worry more about the ineluctable approach of summer and the cost of cooling our home.
