Book Beginnings

How to participate: Share the first line (or two) of the book you are currently reading on your blog or in the comments. Include the title and the author so we know what you're reading. Then, if you would like, let us know what your first impressions were based on that first line, and let us know if you liked or did not like the sentence. The link-up will be at A Few More Pages every Friday and will be open for the entire week.

I just started
Other People's Money: A Novel

"At this time of year, Antibes is at its best. The almond blossom is out, the sea loses its darkness, the cold rains have mostly been swept mysteriously away, the mistral has cleared has cleared the skies and the geraniums are being planted out."

Seems like a nice, tranquil start to a book about money. It makes me wish it was springtime here. I am only a few chapters into the book and it is anything but tranquil at this point.

Book Beginnings

Book Beginnings on Friday is a meme hosted by Katy from A Few More Pages. Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading.

I am reading The Templar Salvation by Raymond Khoury
"Stay low, and keep quiet," the grizzled man whispered as he helped the knight clamber onto the walkway.

This is the second book in his series, so I am excited to delve into the story. I read the first one back in 2006 when it came out and I was fixated on templars.

I am reading Kabul Beauty School by Deborah Rodriguez.
"The women arrive at the salon just before eight in the morning. If it were any other day, I'd still be in bed, trying to sink into a few more minutes of sleep."

I've just started this book and am enjoying it so far. It is a easy read and I suspect a fast read.
