Saturday Snapshots - St. Petersburg, Russia

Saturday Snapshots is hosted by Alyce at At Home With Books.

To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky below. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don’t post random photos that you find online.

Here are some photos taken in the spring while in St. Petersburg, Russia at a local performance of Russian musice and dance. The performers were spectacular.

Book Beginnings

How to participate: Share the first line (or two) of the book you are currently reading on your blog or in the comments. Include the title and the author so we know what you're reading. Then, if you would like, let us know what your first impressions were based on that first line, and let us know if you liked or did not like the sentence. The link-up will be at A Few More Pages every Friday and will be open for the entire week.

I just started
Other People's Money: A Novel

"At this time of year, Antibes is at its best. The almond blossom is out, the sea loses its darkness, the cold rains have mostly been swept mysteriously away, the mistral has cleared has cleared the skies and the geraniums are being planted out."

Seems like a nice, tranquil start to a book about money. It makes me wish it was springtime here. I am only a few chapters into the book and it is anything but tranquil at this point.

Teaser Tuesdays

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of  Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Include the link to your Teaser in the comments.

Here's mine from The Templar Salvation that I started last week and am still reading:
And if not now,  if not during his lifetime or the lifetimes of many of his descendants, there  would come a time when they would be read and studied openly. A time when they would enrich man's understanding of his past.

Thirsty Tuesday - Kona Hawaii

It was our last day in Hawaii and we had lunch at The Fish Hopper. It was crowded so we opted to sit at the bar (also then DH could watch football). Cisco, the bartender kept me entertained by watching him making cocktails with a flair!!
We had also eaten here on our first day on the Island.

Volcano - I want one of these "glasses"

The ultimate loaded bloody Mary!!! There's eatin' and drinkin' in it!

Macro Monday

MM3

Macro Monday is hosted by Lisa at  Lisa's Chaos.
Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or any close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and sign MckLinky.

I took this shot on December 12 and it is a much prettier one than the one of the same rosebud taken December 6. Since this is Canada, I didn't expect it to actually open and look so beautiful.
