I'm linking up at Monday Mural
August 2023 - Skagway Alaska
This mural at the intersection of Broadway and 3rd Avenue in historic downtown Skagway is of Engine No. 73. The locomotive belongs to the WP&YR railroad. The Baldwin 2-8-2 Mikado class steam engine was built in 1947 and, after a two-year restoration, was put back in service along the White Pass excursion route.
As you would imagine, I am impressed. 1947 must have been getting quite late in history to be building steam trains.
ReplyDeleteI always think of you when I see a train!
