Today's theme is:
242 : Fans, Faces, national Costumes, Hidden Meanings
Look at these faces!! And in national costumes!! Taken in Dublin Ireland.
The two girls on the left are Mc Guinness cousins, Brenda and Susan, two of my Dad's sister's children. Every little girl in Ireland took dancing lessons back in the early 60s.
Cute shot!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute picture. Every St. Patrick's Day there is a big parade near where I live. I'm always amazed at the number of groups of young girls doing Irish dancing. Where are these schools? I've NEVER heard of a dance school teaching Irish dancing. There must be some secret Irish clubs or something going on.
ReplyDeleteI love Irish dancing!
ReplyDeleteOne day I hope to see authentic Irish dancing in Ireland!
A clever posing of the four girls - placing the dancers on the double stump of a tree. A cute shot. We have 2 DVDs & a CD of the show "Riverdance" and watch or listen to them often and never get tired of watching or hearing the numbers. There's just something about the music & that wonderful dancing that fills the soul.
ReplyDeleteSo all the mothers had too make the costumes? To traditional patterns?
ReplyDeleteIt's a great photo : the use of the tree stump makes it so much more memorable and attractive than a boring shot of four kids lined up.
ReplyDeleteI loved inviting dance school students to perform at a retirement complex in Tampa. The Irish Step Dancers had to wear wigs and costumes, and perform specific dances, then they entered state, national and international competitions. They were spectacular!
ReplyDeleteWith arms held at their sides, I half expect them to spring into a high kick.
ReplyDeleteWonderful picture of the little dancers. I enjoyed the other pictures of them too.
ReplyDeleteThey just look as cute as can be. Now I want to see them dance on the stump.
ReplyDeleteSomeone with a lot of patience makes those elaborate dresses worn by the older girls. They all look pretty pleased with themselves, as they should.
