TOUR DAY 27 TRANSIT
ITALICS TOUR DESCRIPTION
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight. Please refer to the airport transfer information on page 2 for more details about the transfer. (Breakfast)
Although our alarms + wake up call were scheduled for 4 AM we were both up at 3:45 AM and ready in the lobby at 4:45 for the drive to the airport.

The driver assumed we were flying domestic! NO!
The AC check-in was already opened so we flew through that and through the priority lane for security and were in the Thai Royal Silk lounge in no time! We didn't see any of the other Wingbuddy group after that!
Airport
Yet another memorial to the Queen Mother.
This lounge is very large and comfortable, with a generous selection of food and drinks.
We finally had a good coffee, after those horrible hotel coffee machines that make all the coffees taste the same!

We took the high speed train to our gate.

Weird, they served us drinks and dinner at 9 AM.
I loved it, John hated it.

We then had breakfast.
Twelve hours and several movies later we arrived in Vancouver where we had to clear customs, pick up our luggage and head to the domestic lounge, with little time to spare.
It is Christmas week and the airport was packed. We discussed our options if they were overbooked and requested people offer their seats for compensation. I wanted business class on the next flight home, although if they wanted to put us up in Vancouver, I was open to that. We agreed also on two business seats to Europe in the next year, after all, it is Christmas!!
Breakfast again, we had pre-ordered the pancakes, we don't want to see an egg for a while!
And it is raining in Vancouver.
The Rockies!
Between Bangkok and Vancouver airport we managed to get our daily steps in despite flying for 15 hours!
Our luggage arrived quickly, however, finding the Uber pick up spot was a pain at Pearson Domestic. But we did and were home by 4 PM.
What an incredible 30 days!!
The Thai airport is beautiful, as airports go. Are you glad to be at home, sweet home? I would be, after 30 days!
ReplyDeleteYes and no. I'm happy to have my kitchen to cook and bake. Love having two bathrooms LOL. And happy to catch up on our trip posts. But I love to travel. We are hoping for a good snow storm since we are happy being home and vegging for a few days!!
