Tuesday Treasures

Tom hosts Tuesday's Treasures.

May 2019 - Florence Italy

Florence, the city of art. Everywhere you turn there is evidence of the great works of Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Giotto, Botticelli and so on.
We saw tourists as they were herded into the Uffizi and Accademia museums.

But there is a more modern, street smart kind of art as well going on in Florence.
I had found mention of a street artist when researching our Florence trip so we were on the lookout for his work.
Clet" is 43 year old Clet Abraham, a French artist who has been living in Italy for over 20 years. He alters traffic signs with graphic stickers that transform a DEAD END sign into a crucifix or a ONE WAY arrow into Pinocchio's nose.Click here to see a very recent video about him.

And here is Clet portrayed by another Florence street artist Blub, whom I will feature next.

The other stickers are not part of his work.

.

We came across this one in Bordeaux as well.

We also found his workshop/store while exploring the San Niccolo neighbourhood.

  1. These are creative. I think the rigor mortis one is my favourite.
