Pre-digital, no notes. We rented a car.

I do remember that our flight home from Malaga was cancelled and the airlines put us up at a hotel that I had wanted to stay in!! That was our first time having a flight cancelled coming home.

We stayed a week in Mijas, a timeshare, Las Farolas.

 

The historic mountain village sits 430 meters above sea level, offering narrow cobblestone streets, colorful flower pots, and panoramic views of the Costa del Sol.

It is an absolutely stunning place to see. 

Crazy sitting on the side of the road as the cars pass by.

Sangria.

Ronda was a definite and unforgettable spot.

Ronda is a historic mountaintop town famous for its dramatic clifftop views and the deep El Tajo gorge.

Marbella 

Marbella is a glamorous resort city situated along southern Spain's Costa del Sol, nestled between the Mediterranean Sea and the foothills of the Sierra Blanca mountains. Known globally for its luxurious lifestyle, upscale amenities, and vibrant nightlife, it stands as one of Spain's premier international tourist destinations.

Casares

Casares is a breathtaking, postcard-perfect whitewashed village (pueblo blanco) perched on a jagged cliffside.

Yikes!

John golfed once with a group from the UK who had a membership locally.

We went over to Gibraltar on a wet, miserable day so we didn't explore very much, but drank sherry in the Queen's Hotel (no longer there).

La Herradura Bay (often spelled Herradura) most commonly refers to one of two famous horseshoe-shaped bays ("herradura" means horseshoe in Spanish).

We also stayed a week in Garrucha, also a timeshare.

Garrucha is a traditional Spanish port town and municipality situated in the Almería province of eastern Andalusia. Known as the "Beautiful Pearl of the Levant," it has retained its authentic maritime charm, functioning as a working fishing harbor rather than a heavily commercialized tourist resort.

Our visitor was fun until she left her litter of kittens on our doormat.

Alicante

Alicante is a vibrant port city and municipality located on Spain’s southeastern Costa Blanca. As the capital of the Alicante province, it seamlessly blends rich historic charm, broad sandy beaches, and a lively, modern Mediterranean urban culture.

Santa Bárbara Castle: One of Europe's largest medieval fortresses, sitting atop Mount Benacantil. It overlooks the entire city and provides panoramic views of the bay.

Torremolinos - I had been here in 1978.
