A chatelaine is a decorative belt hook or clasp worn at the waist with a series of chains suspended from it. Each chain is mounted with useful household appendages such as scissors, thimbles, watches, keys, vinaigrette, and household seals.

Eh to Zed

For this round of the alphabet I am going to celebrate Canada's 150 birthday by showcasing towns across the county.
To date I've been in the Maritimes and Ontario with my letters. Now we've gone out west.

Lake Louise - double L! Out west in Alberta.

Lake Louise was named after the Princess Louise Caroline Alberta (1848–1939), the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria, and the wife of John Campbell, the 9th Duke of Argyll, who was the Governor General of Canada from 1878 to 1883.

The hamlet was originally called Laggan, and was a station along the Canadian Pacific Railway route. It was built in 1890.

LANDSCAPE - WOW we are on a road trip and have so many landscape photos this will be hard.

KEY - we visited Craigdarroch Castle in Victoria BC this week.
I noticed that this manniquin had a chatelaine on her.

To date I've been in the Maritimes with my letters. For the letter E we went to Ontario. F we were back in the Maritimes. With G we're going into Ontario.

GANANOQUE (GAN-ə-NOK-way) the town had a population of 5,194 year-round residents in the Canada 2011 Census, as well as summer residents sometimes referred to as "Islanders" because of the Thousand Islands in the Saint Lawrence River, Gananoque's most important tourist attraction.
