Forget Me Not Coffee

Linking up with Marg at The Intrepid Reader

NOTE - Natalie of Weekend Coffee Share wrote a tribute to Trent McDonald, a contributor to her weekly posts and someone I enjoyed reading. Trent suddenly passed away after going for a jog in October. RIP, Trent.

 October 2025 - Toronto ON

Ossington Ave. Toronto
ONE YEAR AGO Pumpkin
FIVE YEARS AGO Eat, Drink and Be Scary
TEN YEARS AGO Palm Springs Recap

SATURDAY

I was busy on my laptop when I spotted this sunrise out of the corner of my eye!

And this!

We decided on a do nothing day, even though we did some stuff.
My Christmas cactus looks like she is getting ready to flower!

John finally brought my bracelet up from the car that my BFF had restrung for me! She did  a great job.

Still on a high from last night's win!
Enjoy this beautiful Indigenous Blue Jays logo (made by Kory Parkin/@paintsbyparkin)

It was bound to happen...

SUNDAY

Gardiner Expressway from Spadina Avenue to Highway 427 closed until Monday, at least they waited until the game was over to close it.

MONDAY

John went to golf and had a 45 minute delay due to to frost warning.

I went downtown and we flew into and out of the downtown area!!

A new opening in FCP, and they look good!!

Kind of weird, I was waiting for the elevator with another woman who had a grocery cart, we got on when suddenly someone pushed another cart on, I realized he lived on my floor and he said "could you take my cart", he had another cart. Startled as was the other woman, I took it and left it in the hall. He later stuck a thank you note in our door. Now I know his name and what his business is LOL.

I prepped a small batch of maple scones for baking in the morning.

What a ball game! We lasted until 1 AM.

I would add that it started at 8 PM EST and ended at 3 AM!
18 innings is 2 games!!!

TUESDAY

John met a friend for breakfast and then golf. I popped into the $ store for a couple of things.
Union Station.

Baseball fever is everywhere.

Then chatted with T for a while.
I got this in the mail!!!

More baseball madness! And it was mad as we won in LA!!!

WEDNESDAY

We spent the day arranging a trip for end of November, finalizing/paying the first part with a tour.

I made more scones to bake in the morning. I'm going to have to make multiple batches at a time and freeze them!

NO ROOKIE IN #WORLDSERIES HISTORY HAS MORE STRIKEOUTS IN A SINGLE GAME THAN TREY YESAVAGE!

THURSDAY
John had an appointment and I did some administrivia before meeting him to get electronic visa photos.
Luckily the bus driver had taken the exit to Spadina, otherwise we would have been stuck as this streetcar was blocking Lake Shore. Cars were going around the back end of it to continue.

Royal York Hotel decked out in blue for the Blue Jays!

We are going to Vietnam and Thailand for 28 days!! Vietnam requires a visa.
We have been to both countries on a river cruise but that isn't the same. Most meals were in the boat and you just get a taste of a place. Click here for our river cruise.

Also we are going to different cities although we will be in Ho Chi Minh and Bangkok for a couple of days.

We spent the rest of a rainy day doing travel research.

FRIDAY
I went for a haircut on a miserable drab day. There weren't very many Halloween costumes about but plenty of Blue Jays outfits!

Waiting for our Jersey Mike's sub. The line was so long I ordered online and it was faster!

This was some kind of photo shoot set up in Union, I'm guessing  LA reporters????

Top of the RBC building.

I was going to do our visa paperwork but I received an e-mail from the tour company stating that they would do it! Bonus!

We ordered a Chromebook to take away with us instead of my large laptop. We got it set up and will test it out on the weekend.

John solved an annoying cell phone problem I was having uploading photos from both our phones after a software update.

We're ready!

Sorry for all the Blue Jays images, but some are just too good!

Weeeeellllll....One more game will decide!!

Dodgers Edge Blue Jays 3-1 in Game 6, Force World Series Game 7

COOKING

Saturday - leg of lamb sprouts roast potatoes mashed turnip and carrots with chimichurri

Sunday - lamb curry rice naan
Monday - stuffed flank steak, beef gravy (homemade frozen) mashed carrots turnips and roast potatoes
Tuesday -  leftovers
Wednesday - fish chowder finishing up what we had in the freezer.
Thursday - chicken wings and fries
Friday - steak fajitas, yes for the third week in a row. That will be the last of the Costco steak that we didn't particularly enjoy but it worked well sliced up with onions and peppers with tomato salsa, and all the other toppings.

WATCHING
BASEBALL

Flight or Fight s a 2025 action comedy film. It stars Josh Hartnett as a man who is recruited to identify and protect a wanted criminal aboard a commercial airline. This was a fun, silly movie, perfect for a Saturday afternoon.

We finished The Diplomat season 3 - what a ride!!

I'm watching an Australian series The Family Next Door as I cook. It is getting more intriguing.

READING

I read The Woman Who Lied, and I'm not lying when I say I got a little confused at one point as there are stories within stories. I thought I had the villain at the beginning but then kept changing my mind. It was a good read and I borrowed another of hers.
