Pumpkin

Linking up with Marg at The Intrepid Reader

November 2024

Saturday morning view.

We were on the road to Montreal at 9AM, we had packed and made sandwiches for lunch when we got up. It was a beautiful day to drive and traffic was so light.

We checked into the Hilton at 3 and headed to John's daughter's for the evening.

Sunday we lazed around after our complimentary breakfast at the hotel until 2 when we headed to his son's for dinner.

Monday it was -2 as we set out for home. We arrived home at 3PM.
Monday's Mural - Union Station.

Tuesday Signs from the pumpkin patch we visited a couple of weeks ago.

Tuesday I was busy in the kitchen, making COF (clean out fridge) soup, prepping dinner and baking oatmeal raisin cookies. Made egg and onion for John's lunch sandwich on Wednesday.

Wednesday we were up at 6AM (stupid o'clock) as John was golfing at 8!! He headed out after having scrambled eggs. It was already 16C! I tidied up and started laundry. Cleaned up plants.
I did some blog posts and then headed out at 10:30  to Winners (bought a jacket $50 and a tablecloth), $ store potting soil. Then to Longo's. Tablecloth is too big so I will return it.
Not much in photos.

Tourists snapping photos with the hockey players.

Union Station

We had a little visitor and she actually warmed up to us.

Thursday was also in the low 20s!!! Sunrise when I got up. John headed out to golf.

I headed out to Burlington to eat and shop with BFF. I bought a green knitted. striped shirt.

The city is gearing up for six Taylor Swift concerts!!

Today was Halloween, so the stores were very quiet!

When I got home our robot vacuum had arrived and John had already christened it after our last cat, Parnell!

Friday was brisk and cold!

I booked John's flu shot.
I returned the tablecloth for a smaller size and bought this mat as Parnell (AKA robot vacuum) didn't like the other one.

John went to Metro for groceries and got some good bargains. Then he took these bags to the charity shop.

WATCHING

Caught up on our recorded shows.
We watched Copshop - On the run from a lethal assassin, a wily con artist devises a scheme to hide out inside a small-town police station-but when the hitman turns up at the precinct, an unsuspecting rookie cop finds herself caught in the crosshairs.

We started the series High Country -A detective transferred to Victorian High Country investigates 5 missing persons. She uncovers a complex web of murder, deceit and revenge.

I found I could watch the latest season of My Kitchen Rules Australia!!!

READING

I finished The Teacher, it starts really slowly but finally picks up more than half way through. REALLY, the main character does this???? But the bad proof reading and bad grammar almost made it a DNF.

I read The Lawyer, decent plot. It shows how easy it is to get catfished!!

All His Pretty Girls was an excellent read, it kept getting better! I will definitely read more of this series!

I started A Game of Lies.

  1. I read Clare MacIntosh's first book and liked it buut couldn't get into the second one. Maybe it was the timing or I needed to try it another time because I very much liked her first book. Just realzied Roddy Doyle's book A Star Called Henry is a trilogy so I am planning on getting the other two.

    Love your menu!

  2. You got some lovely fall color on your road trip and in Toronto. That's interesting that Taylor Swift makes such an impact on any city that she enters.

  3. Yes, we have moved our clocks, oh so reluctantly. Why, why, why?

What a great time to take a trip! Look at all those beautiful fall displays on the trees.

  5. Only clocks I have are on my devices so nothing to move! Cat got me up earlier than usual so I didn't get my extra hour of sleep. I do not like that it will be dark before I clock out for work because it will make me want to go directly from work to bed.
