Monday Mural

I'm linking up at Monday Mural

March 2025 - Toronto ON

Last Saturday we went to Little Canada, which contains HO scale replicas of natural and man-made structures located throughout Canada, including Golden Horseshoe, Niagara Falls, Ottawa, Quebec City, West Coast, East Coast and Toronto.
HO or H0 is a rail transport modelling scale using a 1:87 scale (3.5 mm to 1 foot). It is the most popular scale of model railway in the world.

I thought it would be fun to post the tiny murals I spotted.

MURAL UPDATE

Interestingly, I didn't post this to Monday Mural, but instead used it for Weekend Roundup featuring Spadina subway station.

For the first time in 47 years, a legendary piece of art that's called Spadina subway station home for decades is set to be displayed at a Toronto museum as part of a larger exhibition celebrating the work of renowned Canadian artist Joyce Wieland.

Recognized globally as one of the leading Canadian contemporary artists of the 20th century, Wieland's artwork "Barren Ground Caribou" continued the ecological themes in her work. The nostalgic quilt, which consists of layers of cotton fabric stuffed with synthetic batting, has been a fixture at the station's Kendal Avenue entry since it was unveiled in 1978.

After almost half a century, the artwork is officially on the move, with its first stop being the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) for an exhibition titled Joyce Wieland: Heart On.

There will also be a Heart On exhibit of her works at the AGO starting June 21, which I hope to see.
