Friday Finds

1. Starts with T
2. Week's Favorite
3. Rule of Thirds
The first two will be the same, except we’ll work our way through the alphabet. The second can be a favorite image or activity from the week. The third will be different each time.

Friday Finds   ABC Wednesday

November  2016 - Toronto ON

Starts with T

Got a couple of bonus Ts here in Town Toronto.

The neighbourhood's name is believed to have originated in the early 19th century when the area was an Irish ethnic enclave, particularly for Irish emigrants from County Cork. Another possible suggestion is that the presence of a distillery, breweries and cork-stopper manufacturers in the vicinity may have secured the nickname.

The Enoch Turner School on Trinity Street, was built in 1848. This was Toronto's first 'free school'. Its benefactor was Enoch Turner, a prominent Corktown brewer and one of Toronto's great philanthropists.

WEEK'S FAVOURITE - not much photo taking this week. I like this one from a birthday brunch last Saturday.

RULE OF THIRDS - this always stumps me. Jamestown VA a couple of weeks ago.

  1. Not many pictures taken this week! You must be exhausted from all the pictures that you took in Virginia.

  2. Lovely shot of the deer - it looks quite different with the ears back like that. The roses are spectacular.

  3. The deer's a beauty.

Corktown has a presence here, and it goes back to the Irish workers on the Canal having had settled down here. The Corktown pedestrian bridge across the Canal is named in their honour.

  4. I think it's really hard to take a lot of pictures this time of year. Beautiful flowers. Great capture of the deer! Thanks so much for joining Friday's Hunt. Hope you have a great week!
