Sepia Saturday

Sepia Saturday

254 : Couples, clinches, crossings, hitching a ride

My parents were extremely in love their entire lives. They were always affectionate with each other.

These two photos are Christmas 1958 in Baie Comeau Quebec.

Most of their friends were young couples, from Australia, Ireland, England and Scotland. They had come to Canada and then found jobs at the Canadian British Aluminum company.

Dad is in the grey vest and Mom has the rust coloured dress.

  2. Lovely to see the fondness in the old photos.
By the way, you've forgotten to put a link on the Sepia Saturday page:)

  3. The colors add dimension to the nostalgic quality of the holiday that might be overlooked in a true Sepia tone image.

  4. Balloons on the tree?? Your mom and dad were so cute there on the floor. I wonder if he pulled her down to sit with him.

  5. To me, playful moments of togetherness speak more of a couple's love & fondness for each other than anything else simply because they are so obviously real.

  6. 1958 was the year my wife and I were married, the best decision of my life. Great pictures.

  8. What fun they seemed to be having. No wonder the camera was a bit "out of focus" with laughter!

  10. Lovely informal snaps and they certainly do show the love between your parents. Sitting on someone's leg is only comfortable for both if they are in love :-)

  11. This is the first time I've ever seen balloons hung on a Christmas tree. That could be quite a challenge.
