Throwback Thursday

December 2013 - Las Vegas Nevada

Decorations at Bellagio. Click here for last year's display.

The centerpiece of the display is Las Vegas' largest indoor holiday tree standing at 45-feet tall and weighing 8,000 pounds, hand-picked in Mt. Shasta, Calif. and flown in for the display.

A holiday favorite returns with a family of topiary polar bears adorned with 18,000 snow white carnations. Momma bear will watch over her two cubs as they frolic through the poinsettias and float on an icy pond. In an effort to build awareness about protecting the polar bear’s home, Bellagio will partner with Coca-Cola to promote the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) during this year’s exhibit. Coca-Cola’s goal, in partnership with WWF, is to raise awareness and funds to help create places where polar bears and people can thrive in the Arctic.

  2. I haven't been to Vegas since it was family-friendly-ized and, not being a gambler, I've never really had an inkling to go back as an adult. However, these pictures look like so much fun that they make me think that Vegas may not be such a bad place to visit after all!

    1. We are not gamblers either by a long shot! But there is a lot to see in the area such as Red Rock, Hoover Dam.

  7. Great displays. I go to Vegas in February for a convention and it isn't nearly as pretty.

  8. Your photos really make me want to go to Vegas at Christmas time. Gorgeous! Love the tree from Mt. Shasta. My youngest granddaughter was named after Mt. Shasta! Her daddy thinks it is a beautiful place.. (her name is Shasta, not Mountain! hee hee)
