It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday! What are you reading? is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. For this meme, bloggers post what they finished last week, what they're currently reading, and what they plan to start this week.
My comments are not meant to be recaps of the story lines as I include a link to Goodreads for their synopsis of the book. I am merely stating how I felt about the book without giving any spoilers.

FINISHED THIS WEEK:
Wish You Were Here

Synopsis here.

This book is set in modern day England against the backdrop of the "war on terror". Jack's brother has been killed and Jack sets out for the "repatriation" of his body as the British and Canadian military call the return of the remains to the family.
This story takes place over a few hours as Jack agonizes and reminisces over his life with his brother and family.
This story takes us all back on a journey of life's little miseries that are part of all our lives.
I have a love-hate relationship with Swift's writing and while this was written beautifully it was a very sad book.

STARTED THIS WEEK:
Neverwhere

When Richard Mayhew stops one day to help a girl he finds bleeding on a London pavement, his life is forever altered, for he finds himself propelled into an alternative reality that exists in a subterranean labyrinth of sewer canals and abandoned subway stations. He has fallen through the cracks of reality and has landed somewhere different, somewhere that is Neverwhere.
