November 2025 - Tokyo Japan
A few of my favourite collectibles.
Street signs
Well, this surprised me! I thought it was some sort of spoof???
It is a Japanese road sign indicating a pedestrian-only zone, with an additional sign clarifying that bicycles are excluded from this restriction. The blue circular sign with the white figures of an adult and child designates the area for pedestrians only.
Subway sign! No, we didn't even attempt it. We had enough trouble figuring out what entrance we were supposed to meet a guide at, so we Uber'd.
Love do not disturb hotels signs! Tom will ask why? I worked with a guy who collected the physical hotel signs, so it made me take notice of them.
Bathrooms. Tom asked me why? I responded that I think it started when I first went to Ireland, on my own, and was stymied in a train station, figuring out which one I should use, yes, I picked the wrong one!
On the hotel shuttle bus. Heated seat?
It is a Japanese warning sign, commonly seen in public transport like buses. It alerts passengers to the presence of a heater near their feet.
Warning: Hot air/heater
Location: Underfoot/floor area
Purpose: Avoid injury or discomfort from the heat

Our guide, providing the Japanese address for our Uber driver.
