When I started ranting, the night fElon 47 announced the tariffs I never thought I'd have enough blog fodder to be still ranting!! But he keeps adding more and more.
Comment from an American friend who lives in Las Vegas " went to a big Mexican Supermarket up the street. El Super is the name. And it was huge. Amazing meat market. B found some stuff he wanted to try. So we bought a few things and will probably go back there again. But NOT to buy eggs. 1 dozen $18.97 - WOW I've been buying 18 extra large for $8.59 at Walmart (now $6.50) ever since the egg thing began. Maybe they were priced in Pesos".
BTW here in Toronto 2 dozen at Costco for $8 this week.
Another American friend commented on this headline, "Yep, this country is seriously suffering from brain-drain!! Glad they are getting out before they can't. We are screwed, blued, and tattooed!!"

SOUTH OF THE BORDER
American war planning usually takes place in highly secure facilities. But the Trump administration planned its strikes on the Houthis using a group chat—and accidentally included The Atlantic’s editor in chief, @JeffreyGoldberg.
Former U.S. Air National Guard Jack Douglas Teixeira was sentenced to 15 years in prison 4 months ago for doing the same thing Pete Hegseth and his band of idiots did when they leaked war plans to a reporter.

MEANWHILE HERE IN CANADA
We're about to have an election here in Canada! Unlike in the US, we don't vote directly for our PM, but rather for our member of parliament. Whichever party gets the most members, wins, and the leader of that party becomes the Prime Minister. Though because we have more than 2 parties, we can sometimes have a minority government. Not necessarily a bad thing since it demands compromise.
Why do I constantly see Conservative Party of Canada attack ads about pensions, when Pierre Poilievre is the one with the biggest pension in Parliament?
#NeverPoilievre
It amazes me how the guy who has been in a suit for 20 years, and used slogans nonstop for the past 3, can say “Boots, Not Suits” and “Carney is nothing but slogans”, with a straight face, and somehow successfully gaslight his unwavering bootlicker devotees.
WestJet Airlines quietly launches Starlink inflight Wi-Fi. Just a company again incapable of doing the right thing for Canada.
WestJet just joined the "no fly" zone for true Canadians. Their only customer now will be Danielle Smith on her flights to Mar-A-Lago. Just don't park any Teslas at the airport. I hear they are a fire hazard.
Italy has suspended the Starlink $1.6 billion purchase negotiations with SpaceX amid Musk being a Nazi and a Trump / Russia collaborator. Italy cites security concerns about the reliability of the US.

UCP is taking away the new $200 Canada Disability Benefit from severely disabled people on AISH (1,901/month).
It costs them nothing to let them keep it and helps reduce food banks usage. Disability equipment is so expensive.
It certainly appears that the Premier of Alberta flew down to Mar-a-Lago to ask a convicted felon and rapist to interfere in Canada’s election.

ReplyDeleteAs always, the Marsh Family were good, and I enjoyed Confounds the Science.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on Musk. No one voted for him and yet he is destroying my country and trying to take over yours (and Greenland, too).
ReplyDeleteI was especially pleased with Confound the Science. I would have laughed if it hadn't been so spot on.
