Saturday in the City - Dinner

Dinner out with my sister and BIL at Romagna Mia. last Saturday.

We shared orders of:
Tagliere di Salumi Misti
A platter of our salumi consisting of Parma prosciutto, salami, pancetta coppata & coppa emiliana served with Lambrusco gelatin. Mesclun Mix accompanies this dish, served in a Parmigiano-Reggiano basket.
and
Gran Fritto dell Adriatico con Verdure Crocanti  - Crispy golden fried squid, shrimp, zucchini, carrot, onions & eggplant served with a spicy tomato sauce.

These cured meats were all made in house and had to be the best I've ever had. The waitress thought this would be too much food for four but we managed to prove here wrong!!

For main courses:
I had Spaghetti alla Carbonara – Vera!
Traditional (no cream, no garlic, no onions) spaghetti carbonara sautéed with homemade guanciale (Guanciale is an unsmoked Italian bacon prepared with pig's jowl or cheeks).

My sister had Penne al Pomodoro o Arrabbiata
Penne in a tomato and fresh basil sauce. Spicy available upon request.

DH ordered from the daily specials - pappadelle with a boar ragout.

And I can't remember what BIL had as we were so busy talking!!
