A small public service announcement from the Department of Things That You Should Know…

It has not “peeked” your interest.
Nor has it “peaked” your interest.
…It has piqued your interest.

You are not “phased” by something.
You are fazed by it.

If you’ve had a long day, you are weary.
If you suspect someone is an idiot, you are wary.

It is “due course”, not “do course”.

“Per se”, not “per say”.

And while we’re here, it’s “could have”, not “could of”, but that particular battle may already be lost.

Thank you for your attention duri

ng this brief outbreak of grammatical housekeeping.

This has been a @LairdofthManor  announcement.🎩💙

AND SOME FUNNY COMMENTS!!

Thank you for this Laird Service Announcement. It has certainly piqued my interest. I am unfazed by the fact that you have commented on these grammatical errors. A very brave action as one is always wary of causing offence. However one does weary of such obvious oversights.
There are those who may choose to do so but taking the matter per se there's no valid argument they could, or indeed should, have raised. Best wishes from the Vale of York xx

I once had to correct a paper that cited the phrase, "No potpourri!" instead of, "No Popery!" (in a history class on William of Orange, Whigs, etc.)

to carry this one step further: It is not “a flag flown at half-mast” unless it’s on a boat. On land, the flag is flown at “half-staff.”

Lemme axe you a question about lie-berries.

Seeing people write “looser” when they mean “loser” is like nails on a chalkboard.

And don't "pour" over a difficult issue.
"Pore" over it.

These are excellent pacific examples of common mistakes. I learned.

Grate work M'Laird, souper job, you should be a Secertary!

And wallah (voila), in one post you highlight some of the worst offenders, thus proving you are indeed detail oriented (orientated), and just not temporally (temporarily), I suspect.

Your welcome.

Grammer Nazi! (Go ahead, correct me... if you want to waist you're thyme.)

But bare with us, because most folks loose they're vocabulary and language skills as they age.

Might I add, if you’re actually completely over something, you couldn’t (could NOT) care less. If you say you could care less you’re indicating you still care more than your absolute minimum of caring.
