The "EH" List - MADE IN CANADA (and some ranting)

We were on a four day bus tour to Ottawa last weekend. The company, Canadian, used to do a lot of bus trips to the States, NYC, Martha's Vineyard, Boston, Savannah, Nashville etc.
The guide mentioned that the American trips are just not selling as Canadians are boycotting US travel. So far they have had to cancel at least 20 trips. This impacts those states that depend on the Canadian tourist dollars.
They have now added many Canadian trips to Quebec and the Maritimes. They also mentioned that they will be expanding to Western Canada.
She also mentioned that we will have a lot of Americans travelling here over the summer months.

LETTER IN EDMONTON JOURNALTo Danielle Smith: I emigrated from Scotland 47 years ago; my family and I took out Canadian citizenship within three years and have enjoyed all the benefits provided by this country and have enjoyed a standard of living unequal to the average family anywhere else in the world. These benefits and opportunities are also available to every individual in Canada, including the less fortunate, people living on the margins of society due to ill health, misfortune or circumstances beyond their control. I feel fortunate being able to live side-by-side with the original inhabitants, the Aboriginal Peoples who still hold title to much of what we now call Canada and who have never ceded their lands to any government but continue to share. If you proceed with an agenda based on your ideals, the legacy of Danielle Smith will be the disenfranchisement of all the Canadians now living in Alberta who would become stateless. Call it anything you want, but this move would essentially be a coup against a legitimately elected federal government. Systematically, you have created a path forward for this scheme to succeed, technically.



I don’t think that this will succeed and I know that most Albertans are Canadians and are way too intelligent to fall for this scheme.

Kristi Noem, the homeland security secretary, bungled answers on Tuesday about habeas corpus, incorrectly saying that the legal right of people to challenge their detention by the government was actually the president’s “constitutional right” to deport people.


Habeas corpus is the legal principle that requires the government to provide a public reason for detaining and imprisoning people. If not for that protection, the government could simply arrest people, including American citizens, and hold them indefinitely for no reason.”
