Tuesday Treasures

August 2020 - Toronto ON

Along Bloor St. West Harbord Village

Bagpipe Lane – since 2009 Bagpipe Lane has been used as a staging area for the piper at the Bloor Borden Farmers’ Market and as a place to tune his pipes.

I snapped the photo without knowing anything about the name. Now I am intrigued, as I know nothing about a piper at/or the Bloor Borden Farmers' Market.

Leah Cohen Lane - Leah Cohen lived and worked in Harbord Village from 1976 until her untimely death from cancer in 2007. Leah was one of the earlier generation of Canadian feminist writers, authoring two books: The Secret Oppression: Sexual Harassment of Working and Small Expectations: Society’s Betrayal of Older Women.

OTHER LANES TO EXPLORE

  1. I love interesting street names. In the area near our place in the US, we have names like Yellow Brick Road, Arab Lane, Baby Doll Road, and Memory Lane.
