Alphabe-Thursday - Z

Jenny Matlock

Posting at Alphabe-Thursday!

Today's letter is Z! Americans say "zee" while Canadians say "zed".  I have 6 Zs today to show you!

March 2013 - Baker California
Taken as we drove from LA to Las Vegas for a few nights before spending a couple of weeks in Sedona before heading northbound to Toronto.

Zzyzx Road is a 4.5-mile-long (7.2 km), part paved and part dirt, rural collector road in the Mojave Desert. It runs from Interstate 15 generally south to the Zzyzx settlement.

The nearest town is Baker, California, 7 miles (11 km) north on I-15. Las Vegas, Nevada, is the nearest major city, about 100 miles (160 km) northeast.

March 2013 - New Orleans LA

October 2013 - Toronto ON taken walking along Lake Ontario on the same day we managed some other great photo opportunities and some local history.

  2. Hello Jackie! Zello, to you! Have not heard about the Zzyzx Rd and Settlement before. The name itself sounds interesting. Just looked it up. Thanks for making me aware of the "last word in the English language."
