Dreaming of France

The rules for this meme are: Please join this weekly meme. Grab a copy of the photo above and link back to An Accidental Blog. Share with the rest of us your passion for France. Did you read a good book set in France? See a movie? Take a photo in France? Have an adventure? Eat a fabulous meal or even just a pastry? Or if you're in France now, go ahead and lord it over the rest of us. We can take it.
Maybe we can all satisfy our yearnings for France, until we get there again.

These were taken in the town of Les Andelys August 2012. We were on a Seine river cruise aboard the MS Avalon Creativity. We had docked and we chose to wander into town on our own with our friends.
This was the view from our cabin window.

The town of Les Andelys lies in a tight bend of the Seine. The valley has been shaped by the river, forming white cliffs. A walk on the riverside offers beautiful views on the ruined castle Chateau-Gaillard, the old houses of Petit-Andely and the Seine valley.

  2. This is amazing and lovely. Wish I could go explore the ruins of that castle, or at least sit at a cafe with a glass of wine and gaze at that castle.
Thanks so much for playing along today. Here’s my Dreaming of France meme

  3. Where on the Seine is this town-I am thinking in Northern France given the Normany style timber homes.

  4. Esme, it is on the Seine between Paris and Normandy.
