IYANBITO New Mexico

The Iyanbito Community was settled by Navajo families from different parts of the reservation to work at the Fort Wingate Army Depot during World Wars I and II. Some of the residents returned to their respective areas, but other chose to remain in Iyanbito. Thom Thomas was one of the founding leaders of the community. He was instrumental in organizing the local government as well as building the first chapter house. The name Iyanbito means “Buffalo’s water” (or springs) which came from a time when buffalo herds used to gather at a watering hole located east of the present chapter site.

2015 - Dublin Ireland

We had lunch in this inspiring church now pub/restaurant.

The former St. Mary’s Church of Ireland is one of the earliest examples of a galleried church in Dublin.

Built at the beginning of the 18th century, it boasts many outstanding features, such as the Renatus Harris built organ and spectacular stained glass window.St. Mary’s closed in 1964 and lay derelict for a number of years until it was purchased by John Keating in 1997.

In September 2007 the building was acquired by new owners and renamed “The Church Bar & Restaurant”.

LAST CALL

Letter I is a hard one!  We stayed in the Imperial Hotel in Galway Ireland in 1991! I had scanned the brochure years ago.
Just googled it and it is still there.
