Festive

The first will be the same, except we’ll work our way through the alphabet. The second and third will be different each time.
Hosted by Friday Finds and this is V4 or round 4!!!

Eh to Zed

For this round of the alphabet I am going to celebrate Canada's 150 birthday by showcasing towns across the county.
We'll be criss-crossing across the country, from the Atlantic coast of the Maritime provinces of Nova Scota, New Brunswick and PEI to Ontario then to Alberta back to Ontario and into Quebec and then way out west to the Pacific coast in British Columbia. We also stop in Manitoba, Saskatchewan. We covered 9 of the 10 provinces.

Vancouver BC September 2017

Archaeological records indicate the presence of Aboriginal people in the Vancouver area from 8,000 to 10,000 years ago. The city is located in the traditional and presently unceded territories of the Squamish, Musqueam, and Tseil-Waututh (Burrard) peoples of the Coast Salish group. They had villages in various parts of present-day Vancouver, such as Stanley Park, False Creek, Kitsilano, Point Grey and near the mouth of the Fraser River.

From Stanley Park

Europeans became acquainted with the area of the future Vancouver when José María Narváez of Spain explored the coast of present-day Point Grey and parts of Burrard Inlet in 1791—although one author contends that Francis Drake may have visited the area in 1579.

The explorer and North West Company trader Simon Fraser and his crew became the first-known Europeans to set foot on the site of the present-day city. In 1808, they travelled from the east down the Fraser River, perhaps as far as Point Grey.
Vancouver hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics.

  2. As expected, the Royal York's Christmas tree is quite impressive.

  3. I too like that wooden figure. Was it a part of a wood exhibit or was it for sale? We liked our visit to Vancouver. Also skirted Toronto but didn't stop as we needed to get over to Detroit by evening. Several we met on our last cruise were from Toronto.
I also like your current header picture. My camera chip has a lot of bikes. I may show some for the next round. Quite a few I've posted and some may be searched for.
