inSPIREd Sunday

July 2015 - Toronto ON

We went to the Toronto Islands this week. To my surprise (I don't know why) there is a church over there.

Drop by tomorrow for a walk around the Island and some photos of the stunning views of the city from here.

Click here for the church's web site. There is a lovely painting of a Toronto ferry on their page. The church even has a van that will pick you up from the ferry for a Sunday service.

I would love to see the stained glass inside. Maybe a Sunday visit?

St. Andrew-by-the-Lake Anglican Church was built in 1884. The church was originally located near the water filtration plant however was moved in 1959 to its present location. Moving of the church necessitated sawing it into two pieces and was successfully accomplished without any serious damage to its treasured stained glass windows. Under an agreement with the city, the building was restored coinciding with the church's centennial in 1984.

  2. I didn't know there was one on the islands, though given that there are homes there, it shouldn't be that much of a surprise.
