Beth hosts Weekend Cooking where you can post anything food related.
In the spirit of the season I am posting some random old Christmas photos of food. My favourite part of the season is the food!!
John has cooked Christmas breakfast for many years, this photo is from 1989! Bacon eggs, sausages, mushrooms, fried tomatoes!
Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, brussel sprouts, gravy, stuffing mushy peas
What fun! I loved cooked tomatoes for breakfast in Ireland but haven't tried them at home -- great idea!

Oh I loved this look back at the holidays. So much of our memories are centered around food and meals.
ReplyDeleteLovely pics - hope you have a memory making Christmas this year too! Cheers from Carole (Carole's Chatter)
ReplyDeleteI love Old Food Cooking and this glimpse into the past resurrects lots of delicious memories. I can almost hear the pounding of the piano at my grandmother's place when my cousins and I got together for family reunions in the 60s.

This makes me think of all the family reunions we had at my grandparents' home when I was a kid. All the cousins were playing, pounding on the piano in the parlor and sliding down the banister. It was a bit of a madhouse. My Nain (Welsh for grandmother) capped the day with her Old Country pudding. I've never made it yet, but it's on my list for some Christmas future. Loved the photos.

These were so much fun to look at- thanks for posting them.
ReplyDeleteNice to see the old family photos! Everyone was so dressed up, it's nice.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that you have these old photos! I wish my family did - usually we're all too busy eating or thinking about food to get out a camera.
